The rich young ruler had everything but yet was not able to sacrifice everything to gain what he could never purchase. Jesus reminds this young man that in order to gain eternal life, he would have to sacrifice all and follow Him. Because he was unable to do this, the rich young ruler walked away from the one who was able to grant him eternal life. Let us learn from this message and be willing, if necessary, to give all up to serve the One who grants us eternal life.
